Tomorrow: “The Nines” Conference

September 8, 2009

How would you like to hear over 40 outstanding Christian leaders talk for 9 minutes each on one concept that has impacted them – for free, from the comfort of your office or home?

Tomorrow (09.09.09) Catalyst and the Leadership Network are sponsoring “The Nines” Conference streamed live through the internet for free. While watching the speakers there will be a place to comment and interact with others who are watching.

Due to several circumstances I won’t be able to catch it but I love the concept and am really interested to see how it goes (they have over 12,000 registered already)

Check the site out here. (If you participate drop me a line and let me know what you think about it)

185,000 Cell Groups!?!

June 14, 2009

Joel Comiskey blogged recently about a church that has 185,000 cell groups… wow, I love hearing amazing stories of what God is doing. I’m going to be researching this church a little more.

Check out his post here.

Legal Risk Management Checklist

June 4, 2009

I just came across a great resource from Carters and Associates – it is a checklist to walk through as a church regarding your legal risk management.

Check it out here.

(Carters is a leading Canadian firm but I’m sure that many of the questions will be applicable in other countries as well)

Reaching the French-Speaking World: EVQ Media

May 27, 2009

I just wanted to pass on the link of a great friend and outstanding minister Joel Spinks. Joel has a real calling/anointing to minister to the French-speaking world (a little research will show you there is a huge need) and has recently planted a church in Quebec. CWL supports them on a monthly basis.

Check out their site here (there is an English section to it).

A very cool building project…

May 1, 2009

One of our servant-leaders, Emily, passed on this really cool link to the building vision/project of Bayside Community Church. I love the community centre concept – it is something we have in our heart for the future of CWL (though I’m not sure it will be quite as extensive as this one… you never know though).

I’m also impressed by the way they are communicating it through the site/blog/photos/video – there are so many opportunities with the internet to help people ‘catch it’ that goes way beyond the capability of a brochure.

Check it out here.

A Husband and Wife Blogging Team…

March 4, 2009

One of the blogs I read regularly is from Jason Boucher. Jason is the Lead Pastor of The Life Centre (cool site by the way), a great church in Ottawa, ON. Jason and his wife Lori were actually my wife’s youth pastors for a number of  years and were one of the most significant influences in her life (I have a lot to thank them for).

Recently, they actually combined their blogs (Lori is quite a prolific blogger herself) calling it Life Confessions. I think the idea is brilliant. They both have different styles but it is very interesting to hear their individual perspectives. They are open, real and share some excellent insights.

I encourage you to check them out here.

Report from The Cry: St. John’s

March 3, 2009

I recently blogged (and twittered) about our trip to St. John’s, NFLD to be part the The Cry. This week they released a more in-depth report regarding what happened on the day.

Ty Jackson/Remnant Ministries

February 23, 2009

Part of the ‘big picture’ for Church Without Limits is that we will be a ‘launching pad’ for ministries/initiatives that impact our region, Canada and other nations of the world (Europe is really on our heart).

One of the ‘first fruits’ of this is Tahir (Ty) and Cheryl Jackson and Remnant Ministries. They are members of CWL and are impacting the Greater Toronto Area and different areas of Canada through ministry to youth/churches, working in schools, and mentoring youth leaders.

Ty spoke at both of our services – he delivered a powerful word. You can check it out here (probably won’t be up until tomorrow). I feel very honored to have such a capable ministry like RM call CWL home.

Nigerian Apostle one of Newsweek’s 50 Most Powerful People

December 26, 2008

Have you ever heard of Enoch Adeboye? Me neither 🙂

He was recently on the list of Newsweeks 50 Most Powerful People in the World. The ministry he leads in absolutely amazing – they have a monthly all-night prayer meeting that draws up to half a million people! This simply furthers my awareness of the fact that much the significant God-things happening on the planet right now are not in North America and we need to be learning from our brothers/sisters in South America, Africa and Asia (even Australia).
