As basketball fans we know what Jermaine O’Neal can bring to the Raptors, which is everything they have lacked for the past several years. Inside toughness, rebounding and a legitimate second scorer. Not to mention another inside presence on the defensive end. If he can remain healthy for the year (as with Bosh) and has a committed “this is about the team” mentality, the Raps will improve substantially and could be a serious contender in the east. I’m also interested to see whom they bring in as backup PG. Whether it’s the Croatian draft pick from a couple of years ago (whose supposedly a pretty good/flashy player) or maybe picking up a solid veteran. 2008/09 should be interesting indeed.
